Zambia defender Aaron Katebe says he is looking forward to the new challenge at Maghreb Atlantic Tetouan of Morocco.

Katebe this week completed a reported two-year deal with the 2015 Caf Champions League group stage debutants from Zimbabwe club FC Platinum.

The 23-year-old defender said he was excited to be joining a club with such a profile.

He moves to Tetouan after six seasons in Zimbabwe where he initially played for Hwange from Zambian club Afrisports in 2009 before moving to Platinum in 2013.

“They are a good club and they are also playing in the Champions League,” Katebe said.

Katebe joins the six-time Morocco champions after he was earlier linked with their arch-rivals Wydad Casablanca including Polokwane City of South Africa.

His stock has been on the rise after notable performances for Zambia at the 2015 Cosafa Cup tournament held in South Africa in May where he played in all three games and scored his debut Chipolopolo goal.

The Zambian has however joined Tetouan too late for their Champions’ League group stage campaign after missing the July deadline.

Tetouan are currently halfway through in third place in Group A with 5 points from four games, three behind leaders TP Mazembe of DR Congo.
