Be patient, ZNUT affiliated teachers urged

Teachers affiliated to the Zambia National Union of Zambia (ZNUT) have been urged to be patient with the ongoing negotiations for improved conditions of service.

Zambia National Union of Teachers (ZNUT) Public Relations Manager Joe Kasaka says the union is engaged in serious negotiations with government for improved conditions of service.

Mr. Kasaka adds that the negotiations have reached an advanced stage and will conclude before the 2016 Budget Presentation.

Meanwhile Mr. Kasaka has advised government to expedite the process of seeking alternative sources of power supply in schools so that the performance of pupils is not affected in this year’s examinations.

He notes that most pupils prefer to study in the evenings and that the load shedding has affected their study timetable especially those in boarding schools.
