YALI cautions Lungu on PF’s fate after 2016

Republican President Edgar Lungu has been cautioned to be wary the blame or praises will be squarely on him whatever the fate of ruling Patriotic Front (PF) will be after the 2016 general elections.

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) believes that as the leader of the ruling PF, President Lungu will have take responsibility of the actions he is making between now and next year’s general elections.

YALI governance advisor Isaac Mwanza says this means that if there is a problem that might lead to the voting out of the ruling PF in power next year it is incumbent upon President Lungu to address it.

Mr. Mwanza has told Qfm News in an interview that in giving it this counsel, his organization is also mindful that the ruling PF has not been the same since President Lungu took over leadership.

He says YALI has taken note that President Lungu has embraced other members in his Cabinet other than those that he initially worked with.

Mr. Mwanza states that President Lungu therefore needs to ensure that he also brings closure his other colleagues he worked with especially in the run up to the January 20th presidential election this year.

He says this is order that they do not feel left out and thereafter become subjects of suspicion that they are working with the opposition.

The YALI governance advisor has also noted the need for members of the ruling PF to accept that despite having worked with, President Lungu is now their leader and republican President.

He has advised ruling PF members to realize that there can only be one party President at a given time.
