Zanaco coach demands improvement

Zanaco coach Numba Mumamba talking to Potiphar Zulu

Zanaco coach Mumamba Numba says it is unsatisfactory to pick up a home draw as the 2015 Faz Super League title race gathers momentum.

The Lusaka side on Saturday came from behind to snatch a 1-1 home draw with Green Buffaloes in their Capital derby played at Sunset Stadium.

The draw has left third positioned Zanaco three points behind second placed Power and another seven adrift of leaders Zesco United with ten games left to play.

Henry Banda equalized for Zanaco in the 22nd minute immediately after Buffaloes had taken the lead through Stephen Kabamba.

The draw also halted Zanaco’s three-match winning run that saw them tied on 38 points with second placed Power heading into their home date against Buffaloes.

“It is bad that we have dropped points at home,” Numba said.

“It was a tough game and Buffaloes came at us and we didn’t play well. Buffaloes were the better side.

“We did well at the beginning of the game but lost it in the second half. We didn’t play to expectations.”

Zanaco have 39 points while Power and Zesco are on 42 and 46 points respectively after twenty rounds of league matches played.

Buffaloes stay in fifth place on 30 points.
