MMD refutes Solwezi West by-election alliance with PF

Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) has refuted claims that it will partner with the ruling Patriotic Front in the forthcoming Solwezi West Parliamentary by-election.

MMD Spokesperson Raphael Nakachinda says it is unfortunate that the PF in Solwezi are beginning to be desperate and are busy spreading rumors that the MMD will work with them.

Mr. Nakachinda says the former ruling party is preparing for the by-election and will soon complete the adoption process.

He says the MMD is still popular in North Western province, adding that the entire PF structure in Solwezi West consists of MMD Members.

Mr. Nakachinda says the party is confident of retaining the Solwezi West parliamentary seat in the by-election.
He adds that North Westerners still have confidence in the former governing party because of its leadership.
