It is malicious to assume the Police are being controlled- Govt

Government has described as malicious claims by some opposition political parties that Police are being controlled.

Home Affairs Deputy Minister Colonel Panji Kaunda says such allegations are baseless and should not be taken seriously.

Colonel Kaunda says leaders of the UPND, MMD and the Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) should watch what they say because their statements can alarm the nation.

He says the Zambia Police service is professional in carrying out its duties.

Colonel Kaunda adds that Police officers swear to uphold the constitution of the land.
