Govt urges patience over NGO Act

Government has advised stakeholders to be patient with the revision process of the NGO Act.

Community Development, Mother and Child Health Minister Emerine Kabanshi says what government is doing is to bring all stakeholders on board in the ongoing review process of the legislation.

Ms Kabanshi notes that so far, the impression that she is getting from the revision process is that both government and other stakeholders are on the same footing.

She says this is why no standoffs or differences have emerged from the revision process because government wants all interested parties to be happy with the end result.

Ms Kabanshi states that there is therefore no need to be anxious about the revision of the Act.
