Govt procures ballots printing equipment for Government Printers

Government says all the necessary equipment has been procured to enable the Government Printers print ballot papers for the 2016 general election.

Works, supply, communication and transport Minister Yamfwa Mukanga has told QFM News in an interview that what is remaining is the installation of the equipment at the Government Printers after which inspection of the equipment will be conducted.

Mr. Mukanga says of the procured equipment, CCTV cameras have so far been installed.

He says government doing everything it can to guarantee a conducive environment for printing of ballot papers for the 2016 general election locally.

Mr Mukanga states that once all equipment has been installed at Government Printers it will be up to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to appreciate the printing environment and arrive at the decision whether to have the ballot papers there or not.
