Buffaloes feeling bullish after beating Forest

Green Buffaloes believe things are looking up for them after picking up their second straight victory in the Faz Super League.

Buffaloes stayed sixth on Saturday after a 1-0 home win over promoted Forest Rangers at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

The victory came a week after Buffaloes stunned second placed Power Dynamos 1-0 on August 2 away at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe. “So far so good. We have collected three points again,” Buffaloes coach Bilton Musonda said.

“You know when you are in a competition you always want to win your games. It is good for the confidence and team morale and we are looking forward to the next game.”

Buffaloes are 11 points behind leaders Zesco on 29 points with 11 matches left to play.

Meanwhile, Buffaloes will be eying their second top-three scalp this weekend when they stay in town to play a Lusaka derby against third placed Zanaco at Sunset Stadium.

Zanaco, on 38 points, will be Buffaloes third top three opponent since returning from the three-week mid-season break after losing 2-1 away to leaders Zesco United in Ndola on July 19 before beating Power a fortnight later.

Buffaloes lost 3-0 at home to Zanaco in the first leg meeting on April 18.
