Changala frightened, ZP, ECZ are failing to curb electoral violence

Civil rights activist Brebner Changala says it is frightening that the Zambia Police and the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) are failing to curb electoral violence in the country.

And Mr. Changala has observed that political violence in the country has continued in the country because of the practice ferrying political cadres to areas where elections are taking place.

Mr. Changala says this practice must be stopped as it has now been proven that it is a source of conflict.

He has told Qfm News by telephone that he does not think it is right for electorates in the country to continue to be intimidated over their right to vote.

And aspiring Munali Member of Parliament Patrick Mungo has observed that character assassination that has continued in the country’s politics is a sign of leadership failure among politicians.

Mr. Mungo is disturbed that politics in Zambia has been turned into a battle of insults where the opposition and the ruling party exchange vulgar language at each other instead of rendering solutions to improve the lives of the people.

He thinks that politicians should be focusing on issues and providing service to the people once they have been given the opportunity to be leaders.
