Lafarge Zambia, Holcim merge

Competition in Zambia’s manufacturing of building materials and construction solutions is set to stiffen with the announcement of more new entries on the market.

This follows the merging of Lafarge Zambia and Holcim of Switzerland to form a new company called Lafareholcim.

Lafarge Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Rigaux has disclosed that Lafareholcim will be guided by three fundamental values of health and safety, People and integrity.

Mr. Rigaux says Lafareholcim will also commit to providing quality products and construction solutions.

He says this is besides committing to society by operating responsibly and ensuring that it maximizes its environmental footprint.

Mr. Rigaux said this last night at a cocktail held in Lusaka at the launch of Lafareholcim.
