ZABS sells 96 standards from April to June 2015

The Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) says it has sold a total of ninety six (96) standards to various companies between April and June 2015.

ZABS Head of Marketing and Public Relations Hazel Zulu has told QFM News that this represents an increase in the number of standards sold compared to the standards sold in between January and March 2015 which stood at 68.

Ms Zulu has attributed the increase in the number of standards sold to improved communication with stakeholders and increased awareness programmes embarked on by ZABS targeting micro, small and medium enterprises.

Ms Zulu has since encouraged more entrepreneurs to partner with the Zambia Bureau of Standards by buying standards in order to enhance their product quality and promote health and safety.

A standard is a document that provides requirements, specifications, guidelines or characteristics that can be used consistently to ensure that materials products, processes and services are fit for their purpose.
