Visiting French Minister gives counsel to Zambia, Africa

Visiting French Finance Minister Segolene Royal has called on African countries to use regional bodies to exert pressure on highly industrialized countries to cut down their green gas emissions.

Ms. Royal thinks that using regional bodies such as SADC and COMESA will have more impact.

She is of the view that highly industrialized countries like the US, CHINA and Canada can do more to reduce on green gas emissions.

Speaking this afternoon at a media briefing held in Lusaka Ms. Royal who was franked by Lands and Natural resources minister Christabel Ngimbu has also observed that Zambia has great potential to make renewal energy an alternative source of energy.

Ms. Royal says this is given the huge water resource the country is endowed with.

She spoke through an interpreter.
