Kazungula councilor cries for more relief from govt

Kazungula’s Nyawa Ward Councilor Elias Siamibila is disappointment that the call on government to adequately provide relief food to the District appears to have fallen on deaf ears.

Mr. Siamibila is worried that despite repeated reminders to government that Kazungula being one of most affected Districts by the poor rainfall pattern, is on a redline, government has decided to rationalize relief food in the District.

He has Qfm News by telephone that he finds the 3,894 tons of relief maize allocated to Kazungula district by government to be pathetic as it is too little.

Mr. Siamibila says this is considering the large number of people that need relief food.

He points out that his Ward alone has been allocated about 450 metric tons of maize when it consists of 176 villages with more than 1,500 households.
