Mr. Mukanga says government believes that making Zambia more land linked will also reduce trade barriers.
He says this is besides reducing the cost of doing business.

Mr. Mukanga says government also believes that being in the center of 8 other countries is an opportunity in terms of transport and revenue generation.

He says this is why government believes Zambia’s geographical position is so important in that if well developed, it will become a logistics hub and thereby complement regional development plans as a strategic link of the corridor network in COMESA and SADC countries.

Mr. Mukanga was speaking in Lusaka this morning at a stakeholders meeting ahead of Zambia’s hosting of the 13th Intermodal Transport Africa conference scheduled to take place from the 28th to 30th October 2015.
