REA highlights progress made on establishment of wind power stations

REAThe Rural Electrification Authority (REA) has disclosed that it is still carrying out studies on potential areas on which wind power stations can be established in the country.

REA Head of internal audit Brian Jere says so far certain potential areas have already been identified but need to establish how much wind and capacity is there citing that this requires technical studies .

He stresses that the institution is actively looking at the issue knowing the importance of wind power stations.

Mr. Jere notes that so far, certain areas in Luapula have shown potential but still needs to be assessed before establishing wind power stations there.

Mr. Jere further states that he is hopeful that the studies will be completed in good time and the establishment of the wind power stations will commence.
