Govt advised to monitor Vedanta Resources

The people of Zambia have been advised not to accept any maneuvers of arm twisting government by the mining community.

Fourth Revolution Party President Erick Chanda says there is an urgent need for the government to closely monitor the activities of Vedanta Resources at Konkola Copper Mines.

Mr. Chanda says the attempt to put Nchanga Mine on care and maintancnae should be a very big eye open to both the government and the people.

Mr. Chanda says this is an indication that Vedanta Resources have plans to destroy the Zambia’s economy.

He says the people of Zambia have tried to bow down to the demands of the mining as seen with the changes to the mining tax regime but that they have continued to hold Zambians at ransom.

Mr. Chanda says Zambians should not tolerate anyone trying to promote threats on the country’s economy.
