CCPC records 500 consumer complaints

The Consumer Competition and Protection Commission (CCPC) has in the first half of 2015 received over 500 consumer complaints.

CCPC Public Relations officer Hanford Chaaba says a number of these cases have been resolved while others are still being investigated.

Mr. Chaaba says the commission is also trying to conclude the nine mergers received in the first half of 2015.

He has further disclosed that the commission has also managed to establish physical presence in all the provincial headquarters of the country to enable consumers reach the commission easily and submit their complaints.

Mr. Chaaba says consumers outside Lusaka have always encountered the challenge of having to travel to Lusaka to lodge their complaints, but that this will now be a thing of the past with the establishment of CCPC offices in all the provinces.

He points out that this will also help the commission to attend to as many cases as possible outside Lusaka and ensure that consumers get the right products and at the right price.
