President Edgar Lungu has been urged to govern the country beyond political inclination in order to diffuse hate speech in Zambia.

Political analyst Neo Simutanyi believes that the hate speech which appears to be on the rise in the country can only end if President Lungu himself initiates the process of ending it.

Dr. Simutanyi is calling on President Lungu to lead by example by condemning hate speech himself regardless of who is behind it.

He has told Qfm News by telephone that the President should do so whether the vice is being perpetrated by members of his own political party or the opposition.

Dr. Simutanyi who is also Center for Policy Dialogue (CDP) Executive Director says in his view it is the action of the Head of State that will determine whether people in the country will desist from perpetrating divisive speech or not.
