BoZ has no intentions of turning small notes into coins

The Bank of Zambia (BoZ) says it currently does not have any forward movements towards turning the K2, K5 and K10 bank notes into coins on account of their lifespan in circulation.

BoZ Head of Communications and Public Relations Kanguya Mayondi however says one of the biggest challenges the Central Bank is facing is having people in the country fully accept the coins.

Mr. Mayondi has told Qfm News in an interview that the BoZ has taken note that some members of the public do not want to accept that all coins in circulation are legal tender.

He has urged Zambians to realize the fact that the coins are legal tender and are in circulation for convenience.
