ZCID agrees with EFZ, Lungu should meet with opposition

The Zambia Center for Inter Party Dialogue (ZCID) has echoed calls by the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia for President Edgar Lungu to call for a dialogue meeting with the opposition in order to defuse the perceived tension in the country.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando tells QFM News via telephone that it is only through such platforms that tensions can be eased and not through responding to each other through the media.

Mr. Chilando says dialogue should be a culture that all politicians should embrace if the country’s peace and stability is to be maintained.

He says his organization therefore supports calls by the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia for President Lungu to call for a round table discussion with the opposition in order to iron out their differences.

Mr. Chilando states that no one can deny the fact that there is a tension between the ruling party and the opposition which can only be addressed through dialogue.

He has since called on President Lungu to be quickly calling for such a meeting with the opposition.
