Government has been accused of dragging the enactment of the Access to Information Bill into law in order to continue governing under the veil of secrecy.

UPND Vice President for politics Canisius Banda claims the PF government does not want to enact the Access to Information Bill because it wants to continue contracting huge foreign debts in secret.

Dr Banda says he believes government is doing this because it is aware that citizens will be angered if they learn of intentions to continue borrowing.

He has told Qfm News by telephone that the message that citizen should be picking from the delay in enacting the Access to Information Bill is that the PF government is not open.

Dr Banda says people should realize that they have already given enough time to the PF government and that they now need to start afresh by having a government that respects God and the wishes of the people.
