Three die in Mbala road accident

Three people died on the spot after being hit by a Toyota Vista Registration number ACP 1880 in Mbala as they were walking along the road.

Police Spokesperson Charity Chanda in a statement says two others who include a nine months old baby sustained injuries in the accident.

Ms Chanda says the baby was on the back of one of the deceased pedestrians, while the other injured person was a passenger on the Toyota Vista.

Ms Chanda says the accident happened on 20th July, 2015 at around 15:00 hours in Mbala as the victims were walking along the side of the road.

She says the driver has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Ms Chanda adds that all the deceased bodies are lying in Kasama General Hospital Mortuary and the injured is admitted in the same Hospital.
