Zambia defender Aaron Katebe’s departure to attend trials at Wydad Casablanca have been delayed due to a visa problem.

The defender from Zimbabwean club FC Platinum was due to travel to Morocco late last week.

“Aaron is slated to travel to Morocco on Monday. However there are some logistical challenges holding up the trip,” Katebe’s agent Amalaye Oyake said.

“He has been unable to secure a Moroccan visa and this is posing some very serious challenges.

“It may likely be that he will travel out later in the week when he secures a Visa and then he will fly directly to Casablanca. He is hoping that he gets a visa sent to him or he can go and get it processed.

“Wydad Casablanca have pre-season training in Europe and are eager to try him out. At the moment Wydad is the team most seriously interested in him, while a few clubs in Belgium, France, Norway and Denmark have made inquiries.”

Katebe recently attend trials at South Africa PSL club Polokwane City.

The 23-year-old defender’s stock has been on the rise after notable performances for Zambia at the 2015 Cosafa Cup tournament held in South Africa in May where he played in all three games and scored his debut Chipolopolo goal.

Katebe began his career at Zambian third division side Afrisports before moving to Hwange in Zimbabwe in 2009 where he spent two seasons and later moved to FC Platinum.
