The Media Network on Child Rights and Development is disappointed with the release of musician Clifford Dimba alias General Kanene who was pardoned by President Edgar Lungu.

MNCRD Executive Director Henry Kabwe has told Qfm news that release of Dimba who was serving an 18 year jail term for defiling a 14 year old girl is sending a wrong signal that anybody can defile a child and be released.

Mr. Kabwe is however hoping that Dimba will use his experience to educate other people to desist from defiling young girls.

He has advised Dimba to be consistent in championing children’s rights in the country and not to politicize his appointment as ambassador in the fight against child defilement.

Mr. Kabwe says Dimba should prove that he has reformed and set a good example to other men and help reduce the cases of child defilement in the country.
