First Lady Esther Lungu has encouraged Catholic Women to promote unity among all women not just in the church but in Zambia and beyond.

The First Lady has also encouraged women to bust the myth about women not working together.

Mrs. Lungu says there is need for women in the country to show men that they do work together and very well for that matter.

Mrs. Lungu has urged women in the country to be proactive and support efforts to eliminate Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Zambia.

She says there is also need for women to work together to sensitize both men and women on how GBV can be prevented and avoided and that women should speak one strong voice and condemn GBV wherever and whenever it rears its ugly head.

The First Lady said this in a speech read on her behalf by Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda’s wife Margret last evening during the annual Fundraising Dinner Dance for the Archdiocese of Lusaka Catholic Women League.
