ZACA asks govt to defer increase in Road Tax

The Zambia Association of Consumers (ZACA) has appealed to government to defer the increase in Road Tax which has been hiked by 50% effective next year.

ZACA Information and Publicity Secretary Juba Sakala has told QFM News that the increase will have a negative bearing on motorists and commuters.

Mr. Sakala says the move to increase Road Tax will be used by Bus Operators and Transporters to adjust upwards bus fares and services.

He says government should consider waiting possibly for the kwacha to gain ground against the US dollar.
