House of Chiefs called upon to intervene in resolving tribalism

The House of Chiefs has been called upon to intervene in the brewing issue of tribalism in the country.

Governance Activist Maurice Malambo has told QFM News in a walk in interview that the House of Chiefs cannot just sit back and pretend that things are okay in the country.

Mr. Malambo says House of Chiefs should provide counsel to the nation especially that some of the Chiefs are already involved in the issue of the purported secession.

He has since called on the traditional leadership in the country to condemn such calls.

Meanwhile the opposition National Restoration Party (NAREP) in Western Province has encouraged President Lungu to continue with his efforts of uniting the 73 tribes in the country.

NAREP Western Province Provincial Youth Chairman Songiso Simasiku says President Lungu should not tolerate any party official issuing divisive statements.
Mr. Simasiku states that President Lungu should not hesitate to sternly deal with any party official putting bringing the name of the ruling party into disrepute.
