It is bad politics to insult President Lungu – Chama

Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama has advised the opposition political parties to desist from insulting President Edgar Lungu saying it is a bad way of doing politics.

Mr. Chama says it is unfortunate that the opposition thinks it is normal to degrade the Head of State saying they should show maturity considering that they are aspiring to be in government.

He says politics of name calling should come to an end saying it is a threat to the promotion of peace and unity in the country.

Mr. Chama states that insulting the leadership of the PF daily is not adding any value to the popularity of the opposition.

He has since advised the opposition political parties in the habit of insulting the President to desist from such kind of politics saying it dents their image as progressive political parties.

And Youth Movement for Leadership (YML) President Charles Mwelwa tells QFM News in a separate interview that it is because of the weakness of the security wings and the judicial system that is some people are having it easy to insult the Head of State.

Mr. Mwelwa says Presidents in other countries are well respected and wonders why it is difficult for Zambians to respect their own President.

He says President Lungu has been given the constitutional powers and it is important that all people respect him saying he deserves to be respected.
