HHR praises PF government

Hope for Human Rights Executive Director Smart Chanda

Hope for Human Rights Executive Director Smart Chanda says the Patriotic Front government is on the right track in promoting human rights in the country.

Mr. Chanda says human rights is more than just the Public Order Act but that there many other areas that should be assessed such as putting up schools, universities, health centers, roads among others.

Mr. Chanda explains that the paramount business of the government should be to deliver services to the people and so far, the PF has made progress in delivering services to the people across the country.

He points out that much as there have been issues of violence in the country in the recent past especially during by elections, human rights in other areas have been respected adding that government cannot be perfect in all areas but can fail in some areas.

Mr. Chanda has further encouraged the ruling PF to ensure that they continue promoting and respecting human rights for peace to continue prevailing in the country.
