Voter apathy is as a result of failed campaign promises-YML

The Youth Movement for Leadership (YML) has attributed the continued voter apathy in by-elections to politicians’ failure to fulfill their campaign promises.

YML President Charles Mwelwa tells QFM News in an interview that politicians should take the blame for the voter apathy in the country saying they are in a habit of abandoning their campaign promises.

Mr. Mwelwa says politicians should start working out modalities of ensuring that the people see the need of taking part in elections.

He says if this problem is left unchecked, then the 2016 General elections will be characterized with voter apathy.

Mr. Mwelwa adds that the country should be avoiding things that may promote voter apathy in future elections.
