AWMN encourages women to take interest in extractive industry

African Women in Mining Network (AWMN) has encouraged women to take keen interest in the extractive industry.

AWMN Coordinator Namakau Kaingu notes that though a number of women have the ideas to fully engage and begin to participate in activities in the extractive industry, they need support and capital to move to greater heights.

Ms Kaingu says women should take up the challenge by participating in the extractive industry.

She states that women should understand that all businesses have challenges, but being financially disciplined is key.

Ms Kaingu has also appealed to all relevant stakeholders to support women who have the interest in Extractive industry as this will help reduce poverty in the country.

She notes that Zambian women have business potential to grow into big businesswomen and contribute positively to the country’s economy.
