STAR Wars actor Jake Lloyd has been arrested.

The actor, who played the role of Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, was reportedly driving recklessly, according to TMZ.

It is believed that he was being chased by police in Charleston, South Carolina.

After losing control of the car, the 26 year old actor was arrested for reckless driving, failure to stop, driving without a license and resisting arrest.

Colleton County Sheriff’s Sgt Kyle Strickland told Sky News that Jake was driving over 100 miles.

The actor, who also starred in Jingle All The Way and US TV series ER, is thought to be in custody at present.

Jake, who was just 8 years old when he took on the role of Anakin Skywalker, quit fame after admitting in an interview with Australia’s The Daily Telegraph in 2012, that he didn’t like the attention.

He said: ‘Other children were really mean to me.

“They would make the sound of the light saber every time they saw me. It was totally mad.”

“My entire school life was really a living hell — and I had to do up to 60 interviews a day,” he added.
