UPND Deputy Secretary General Kuchunga Simusamba
United Party for National Development (UPND) Deputy Secretary General Kuchunga Simusamba says the party will wait upon the Inspector General of Police to give them feedback before effecting citizen’s arrest on Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama.
Mr Simusamba says senior party officials have since engaged with the Inspector General of Police who has indicated to them that Police will only take action if the victim of the shooting Mushaukwa Mushaukwa is able to identify the person who shot him.
Mr. Simusamba says the party will not rest in pursuing the matter until justice prevails.
He says the party hopes Police will be as professional as possible in investigating the matter.
The UPND had given Police a 48 hours ultimatum which has since elapsed, to arrest the PF Secretary General for allegedly shooting and wounding its member in Mulobezi recently.
