Nkana coach Aggrey Chiyangi is planning to clear-out non-performers during the July mid-season break.

Chiyangi said he was not pleased with the attitude of some of his players after three games in charge since his arrival at Nkana on May 25.

On Sunday, Nkana rebounded slightly when they drew 0-0 at home in Kitwe with bottom placed Nakambala Leopards to recover from last weekend’s 1-0 away loss at Napsa Stars in Lusaka.

“For now I think a draw is better than losing so we will build on that and see what happens in the remaining two games before we go into the break,” Chiyangi said.

“But I think performance is a language of football wherever you go. If players are not performing we have no option but to release them.

“You know Nkana is a team that needs results and if we don’t have players who can perform then results will be difficult to come.

“So we really have to be open with each other. The players have to know why they are here; they have to know that if they are not performing then we have no choice. That is what is important.”

Chiyangi has won one, drawn one and lost one from his three games in charge.

The record 12-time Zambian champions are stagnant in 9th place on 17 points on the Faz Super League log from 13 matches played and 11 points behind leaders Zanaco.
