Transparency international Zambia (TIZ) has appealed to government to pay attention to all loop holes surrounding mismanagement of public funds.
TIZ Zambia chapter president lee Habasonda says in as much as government has shown commitment by coming up with programs aimed at in creating awareness among public service workers on the use of public funds, more has to be done safeguard the countries resources.
Mr. Habasonda notes that it is also encouraging to note that the public financial management reform strategy is also helping to enhance accountability and transparency in the use of public funds.
He states that the initiative is slowly nearing fruit because it identifies many sectors of the economy and how resources are utilized.
Mr. Habasonda has also stressed the need for government to ensure that the procurement is also well decentralized.
