RDA accused of being insensitive to people cries

Kapwepwe Ward 25 PF Councilor Maurice Piyo has accused the Road Development Agency (RDA) of being cold and insensitive to the cries of the people of his Ward by failing to give them a fair share of road rehabilitation and developmental works.

Mr. Piyo, in a letter to RDA Chief Executive Officer dated June 12, 2015, has said despite constant remainders to RDA to give the Matero Constituency Ward a fair share of road works, the road infrastructure has remained unattended to from time UNIP left office in 1991 stating that successive Governments have only rehabilitated a 1km stretch of road in the last 25 years.

Mr. Piyo names some of the dilapidated roads the Agency has failed to work on in Kapwepwe Ward as Jazzman, Impala, Catholic, Mwamba Luchembe, Baobab, Tandeni, Bancroft Roads, to mention them but a few.

The Civic leader has reminded RDA that people of Kapwepwe Ward feel reduced to second-class citizens as RDA continues to neglect the Ward that has existed since time immemorial in preference of doing road works in new areas mushrooming around Lusaka City.

He has since warned RDA that if the deplorable roads remain unattended to in Kapwepwe Ward, the Agency risks creating a time bomb where people will lose patience and confidence in the ability of both the Agency and Government to give them a fair share of resources allocated for road rehabilitation and development embarked upon by the PF administration led by President Lungu.
