Inspector general of police Stella Libongani has urged the board of directors and management of thrift society to always perform their duties above board.
Speaking when she delivered her keynote speech at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the Zambia police thrift and credit cooperative society today, Ms. Libongani stresses the need for police officers to embrace saving.
Ms. Libongani says the command greatly appreciates the significant role that the thrift society plays in uplifting the welfare of police officers.
She explains that in as much as the society has made strides there is need for sufficient sensitization to be done among the members so that the can be aware of the activities being done by the thrift society.
Ms. Libongani has also requested the thrift society to continue building up on the projects that they gave embarked on such as rearing of cattle, acquisition of land and venturing in real estates among others.
The inspector general of police has further appealed to the society to look into uplifting the face of Lusaka central division to make it more attractive.
Ms Libongani has also expressed hope that the AGM will be a success.
The AGM has attracted participants from all provinces of the country.
