PROTUZ asks govt to step-up efforts to combat typhoid in Lusaka

The Professional Teachers Union of Zambia (PROTUZ) has appealed to government to step up efforts in combating typhoid which has broken out in Lusaka so that more pupils are not affected.

PROTUZ Lusaka Provincial Chairperson Nelson Mwale has told QFM News that the union is saddened with the closure of about thirty schools in Lusaka’s Kanyama compound following the outbreak of typhoid.

Mr. Mwale says it is for this reason that the union feels the line ministries should intensify efforts by ensuring that the disease does not spread to other parts of the country.

And PROTUZ Lusaka District Chairman Aggrey Chisanga says government should come up with an interim program that will see to it that pupils will not miss anything during the period of the disease outbreak.
