Emerine Kabanshi
says the process of reviewing the NGO ACT will only be completed if consensus is reached with the civil society.
Community Development, Mother and Child Health Minister Emerine Kabanshi says to this effect, consultations are still ongoing in line with the already drawn roadmap.
In an interview with Qfm News Ms. Kabanshi could however not indicate exactly when the ACT is expected to be reviewed.
She has on the other hand expressed optimism that consensus on the review of the legislation will be reached sooner than later.
Asked on what either interested parties are compromising in reaching consensus, Ms. Kabanshi has declined to comment for fear of preempting what is currently being discussed.
She says she will only be able to disclose such issues when both government and the civil society come to an agreement on how the ACT ought to be reviewed.
