Home Affairs Ministers Davies Mwila says government it is committed to modernizing the Zambia Police by equipping the service with modern equipment.
Mr Mwila notes that the lack of modern equipment poses a challenge in the operations of the Police.
He says the Patriotic Front government understands the challenges Police officers across the country are currently facing and is working on addressing these challenges to enable the officers effectively carryout their duties.
Mr Mwila explains that Police officers have a big role to play in maintaining law and order in the country which is why government is giving them the attention they deserve.
He has however noted with delight that Police officers are carrying out their mandate of maintaining law and order to best of their ability in even amidst operational challenges.
Mr Mwila has since assured Police officers that very soon they will have modernized equipment to effectively carry out their work.
