ZRL to accrue US$8M to $10M from Nacala this year

Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) says it expects to realize profit of between US$8 million and $10 million from operations on the Nacala corridor this year.

ZRL Corporate Affairs Manager Benson Ngula has told QFM News that this is despite operations on the corridor having been temporarily halted after heavy rains experienced in Malawi and Mozambique destroyed some bridges early this year.

Mr Ngula says rehabilitation works on the affected bridges were completed on 28th May and operations on the corridor have since returned to normal.

He is hopeful that all stakeholders who were affected by that challenge of the bridges will come back on board and continue transporting their goods and services through the Nacala Corridor.

Mr Ngula says the company is alive to the fact that most people use the railway line to transport their goods and services and this is the reason why they want to offer the best services.
