CCPC optimistic selling of expired products will soon cease

The Consumer Competition and Protection Commission (CCPC) is optimistic that once it opens offices in most parts of the country cases were people are sold expired products will drastically reduce.

CCPC Director Chilufya Sampa has told QFM News that an assessment conducted recently in Chipata, Petaule and Lundazi, has shown that cases of expired products on the market are reducing.

Mr. Sampa explains that the commission at the moment only conducts inspections on the market in intervals, but works with local authorities to ensure there are no expired products on the market.

He says cases of expired products are rampant in areas where the commission has no representation, the reason why they are increasing their presence in the country.
