Faz Super League leaders Zanaco rallied to salvage a point at home on Saturday against Nkwazi at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.

Promoted Nkwazi were denied the three points after Zanaco a first half equaliser from Moses Phiri settled the contest.

Nkwazi took the lead in the 16th minute through Steward Chikandiwa but Phiri equalised in the 31st minute to earn the six-time champions the three points.

However, Nkwazi were the big winners from the draw that came on the back of their 2-1 away win over defending champions Zesco last Wednesday in Ndola to hand the second place side its first league defeat in 2015.

Elijah Chikwanda’s side remain third only on goal difference after joining Zesco on 20 points.

Nkwazi are now eight points behind Zanaco who remain undefeated this season after twelve rounds of matches played.

Across town at Woodlands Stadium, a resurgent Green Buffaloes are fourth after a 1-1 home draw with 12th placed Red Arrows thanks to goals from Friday Samu and Festus Mbewe respectively.

Meanwhile, second place Zesco did not play on Saturday after they postponed their away match against 6th positioned Power Dynamos in Kitwe because they have four players away on 2017 Africa Cup qualifying duty.
