Govt should relook at 2015 National Budget – Dodia

Economic analyst Yusuf Dodia has observed that the government has a tough task at hand in bridging the gap in the 2015 national budget and addressing the needs of the 2016 budget.

Mr. Dodia says it is however very important for the country to finalize activities for this year and move on to prepare the 2016 national budget without too many complication.

In an interview with Qfm News, Mr. Dodia has explained that this means that it is also very important for government to relook at the 2015 national budget.

Mr. Dodia states that whether government needs to readjust this year’s budget or redraw it is an issue that can be seriously discussed when all facts on the budget are made known.

He says he personally thinks the change in the mine taxation regime has to compel government to adjust the 2015 national budget so that it can be reduced and be covered by the reduced amount of taxes that the country is expected to generate this year.
