Police in Lusaka have arrested a 28 year old man of Old Kanyama Compound for allegedly defiling his 13 year-old-niece.
Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga Chanda says the incident occurred on 3rd June, 2015 around 08:00 at the suspect’s place.
Ms Chanda says the incident happened after the suspect met with the victim who was coming from school and requested her to go and clean the plates for him at his home.
The suspect is in police custody and will appear in court soon.
In another development, three juveniles aged between one and eight years died on the spot while eleven adults sustained serious injuries after the Mercedes Benz Truck Reg. No.ALP 602 driven by Albert Phiri aged 35 overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The accident happened on 3rd June, 2015 at around mid night along the Great East Road at Nyalunwe turn off in Nyimba.
Ms Chanda says the driver has since been charged with three counts of causing death by dangerous driving and will appear in court soon.
She adds that all the injured are admitted in Nyimba District Hospital while the bodies of the deceased are lying the same hospital Mortuary awaiting Postmortem.
