Government has been challenged to tell the nation how monies allocated to the constitution making process in the budget have been utilized before allocating more funds to the process in the 2016 National Budget.

Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) Executive Director MacDonald Chipenzi says while monies have been allocated towards the constitution making process, no results have been seen of how the money has been utilized.

Mr. Chipenzi tells QFM News via telephone that stakeholders are having challenges to appreciate how the money allocated to the constitution making process is applied.

Mr. Chipenzi has called for accountability of the K44.2 million and K29 million allocated for the constitution making process in the 2014 and 2015 National Budgets respectively.

He wonders if the money allocated towards the constitution making process is just on paper or lies idle in the bank.

He has challenged government to tell the nation which areas under the constitution making process have been funded before allocating more money to the process.

Mr. Chipenzi says failure by the government to account for this money will make it difficult for the people of Zambia to appreciate whatever amount will be allocated to the process in the 2016 National Budget.
