US Ambassador to Zambia Eric Schultz says he is confident American companies can be a key to unlocking Zambia’s full economic promise by bringing the world’s best technology, employing and training locals and creating growth.
Speaking during the Corporate Council on Africa Trade Mission reception in Lusaka last evening, Mr. Schultz says promoting trade and business connections between Zambia and the US is one of his top p
riorities and strategic goal of the embassy.
Mr. Schultz notes that Zambia has had consistent, strong economic growth for over a decade, and has exceptional potential in its resources, land, water and its people.
He says he has seen continued Zambian government enthusiasm and encouragement for American businesses entering the Zambian market and believes the growing US – Zambia trade and investment partnership will generate profits and prosperity for both Zambians and Americans.
Mr. Schultz says he is also confident that Zambia has the ability to meet the challenges to improving its business environment, and to deliver on the promise of its exceptional potential.
Speaking earlier, Stanbic Bank Zambia Chief Executive Officer Charles Mudiwa says the bank will continue to contribute to the growth of key sectors such as agriculture, mining, construction, infrastructure among other sectors in the Zambia.
