Changala concerned Zambia is drifting into culture of hate speech

Civil rights activist Brebner Changala has described as a sad episode the slowly drifting of Zambia into the culture of hate speech.

Mr. Changala says the culture of hate speech which has become an every day phenomenon in country is not only un-progressive but also adds nothing to the nation’s oneness.

He has Qfm News in an interview that he thinks that for the fact that such hate speech is only being perpetrated for political reasons it must not be entertained.

Mr. Changala says his appeal to all political strata is that they all come together for once and speak with one language.

He has suggested that this language should be that of developing Zambia, fighting its poverty and sustaining its identity of oneness.

The civil rights activist has particularly called on the church to take up the responsibility of bringing political and social leaders together and unite the country.

He notes this is principally that Zambia is coming from a presidential election that has shown divisions on tribal lines and that the government therefore needs to be helped to unite the people.
