Zambians need to be united for freedom of speech -Kasonkomona

Human Rights Defender Paul Kasonkomona says there is need for Zambians to be united and see to it that there is freedom of speech in the country.

And Mr. Kasonkomona says it is clear that the people of Zambia want a referendum to adopt the constitution as opposed to amending the constitution in Parliament.

Mr. Kasonkomona has told journalists in Lusaka today that people should freely express themselves without being intimidated by the authorities and thus the need for the country to have a new constitution.

He says people should be seen to be ambassadors of peace by way of promoting freedom of expression, freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.

Mr Kasonkomona says it is very clear that some Africans are ruled and not governed, urging Zambians to come together and fight for what they believe in.
